What you're agreeing to

By creating a Beatbus account or using our service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. These terms are written in plain language because we think that's better for everyone.

What Beatbus provides

Beatbus is a browser-based video calling service. You can:

• Create instant or scheduled video calls
• Invite people to join via a link — they don't need an account
• Host calls with up to 8 participants
• Manage contacts and view call history
• Purchase call minutes as needed

Beatbus does not record calls, generate transcripts, or store any audio or video content from your conversations.

Your account

You need an account to host calls. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us immediately.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. One account per person — don't create multiple accounts.

Minutes and billing

How minutes work

Beatbus uses a pay-as-you-go model. You purchase minutes, and those minutes are consumed during calls. Every participant on a call uses one minute per minute of call time. For example, a 30-minute call with 2 people uses 60 minutes total.

Purchasing minutes

Minutes are purchased through our billing system, powered by Stripe. When you buy minutes, they are added to your account immediately. Prices are displayed at the time of purchase.

Minute expiration

Purchased minutes do not expire. They remain in your account until used.

No subscriptions

Beatbus does not charge monthly or annual subscription fees. You buy minutes when you need them. There are no recurring charges unless you explicitly set up a recurring purchase.

Refunds

Unused minutes are non-refundable except where required by law. If you experience a technical issue that incorrectly consumed minutes (e.g., a system error that billed minutes for a call that didn't connect), contact us and we'll investigate and credit your account if appropriate.

Running out of minutes

If your minutes reach zero during an active call, the call may be ended. We provide warnings when your balance is running low so you have time to add more minutes.

Guest participants

People you invite to calls join as guests. Guests do not need a Beatbus account. They join by clicking a link, entering a display name, and connecting. As a host, you are responsible for who you invite to your calls.

Invite links are single-use by default for instant calls. Scheduled calls and open door rooms may allow multiple joins during their active period.

Acceptable use

Use Beatbus for legitimate conversations. Don't use it to:

• Harass, threaten, or abuse other people
• Transmit illegal content
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Overload or interfere with the service
• Use automated tools to create accounts or consume resources
• Resell access to the service without our permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

No recording by Beatbus

We want to be clear: Beatbus does not record your calls. No audio. No video. No screen shares. Call content exists only during the live connection and is not stored anywhere on our systems after the call ends.

We cannot prevent participants from using their own screen recording software. What other participants do with third-party tools is outside our control.

Service availability

We aim to keep Beatbus available and reliable, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. The service depends on infrastructure from AWS, Daily.co, and your internet connection. Occasional downtime for maintenance or unexpected issues may occur.

We are not liable for missed calls, dropped connections, or other disruptions caused by factors outside our reasonable control.

Intellectual property

Beatbus, its design, code, and brand are our property. Your content (contacts, display name, etc.) remains yours. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to use your content only as needed to provide the service — for example, displaying your name to people you call.

Limitation of liability

Beatbus is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Account termination

You can stop using Beatbus at any time. To delete your account and data, contact us at the email below.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if we discontinue the service. If we terminate your account without cause, we will make reasonable efforts to let you know in advance.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or a notice in the application. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
